Hello Nickel Beer Friends!I hope everyone is enjoying our mild December weather – it is certainly a nice change from the intense Winter of last year. This weekend will be in the 60s up in Julian – a perfect time to come up and enjoy the back country and some great beer!Holiday BeersOur friends from Puesto – a great Mexican food chain and brewery – came up to brew Let It Snow Winter Lager with us. This light amber beer was inspired by the Mexican Christmas beer Noche Buena. It has a light malt flavor and a hint of brown sugar from Mexican Piloncillo Sugar. The finish is dry and crisp, making this the perfect Winter beer for San Diego. You can find Let It Snow in the tasting room and at the Pub at Lake Cuyamaca and coming very soon to all 3 San Diego Pueto locations!We are putting on some special beers for the holidays. Right now we have our Gold Medal winning Deathtongue Scorpion Pepper IPA on tap. Although this beer packs a massive pepper flavor and aroma, the heat is balanced with a bit of malt from the IPA. The fresh Chinook hops lend a nice background green pepper note as well. Come grab this one while you can as it will only be on tap until Friday the 22nd. Jalapeno Gold will return on Saturday the 23rd.Get ready for a Chocolate Vanilla version of our Stonewall Stout to hit the taps on Thursday the 21st just in time for Christmas.
